2018 Beauty Gift Guide (ft. CDangBeauty)

2018 Beauty Gift Guide (ft. CDangBeauty)

Picking out a gift for a beauty lover can be quite the difficult task.

We can be a little fussy, and what makes matters worse, is that half the time we already own the whole shop.

However, not all hope is lost.

Today, I’m giving you a list of products that are SURE to impress the beauty lover in your life this Christmas.

Limited Edition Christmas Collections

Limited edition products should always be your number 1 stop when it comes to beauty gifting.

Not only do they hold a great deal of prestige- many limited edition collections consist of highly unique products that your giftee will (likely) not already own.

I could list a million different recommendations, but to be honest; the Kylie Cosmetics holiday collection is really where it’s at this year.

Kylie Cosmetics is probably the most highly coveted (and wanted) brand of today, and this particular collection makes my lipstick loving heart SING.

I highly recommend adding the following products to your shortlist:

1. Holiday Mini 8 Piece Lip Set ($42 USD)

2. Super Glitter Gloss in ‘Snow Sparkle’ ($15 USD)

3. Ultra Snow in ‘Let it Glow’ ($14 USD)

Eyeshadow Palettes

Whether your beauty lover is a rookie or fully-fledged MUA, you really can’t go wrong with an eyeshadow palette.

For the beginners out there, a nice neutral palette is an excellent way to give them something to start with.

For the more experienced makeup lovers, I recommend opting for a more colourful and bold palette, as they likely already own a plethora of neutrals.

No matter what, my first recommendation for palette shopping is Colourpop Cosmetics.

Their eyeshadows are incredibly affordable, and truly manage to outperform many of their high-end counterparts.

Specifically, I HIGHLY recommend the following palettes:

1. The Zodiac ($18 USD)

2. Dream St. ($16 USD)

3. Yes, Please! ($16 USD)

Skincare Sets

Shopping for high-end skincare is quite scary (even for beauty lovers), but absolutely EVERYBODY would love to receive a set of mini products to test out.

While these sets are not exactly ‘affordable’, they will definitely be highly appreciated if they’re in your budget.

In particular, I highly recommend checking out Sunday Riley and Drunk Elephant, as:

A. They’re both extremely trendy right now

B. Their products are bordering on magical

Lush Gift Sets

If your giftee is a lover of bubble baths and intense relaxation, look no further than Lush.

Offering the most ‘lush’ handmade products and the dreamiest of gift sets, you really cannot go wrong.

Echoing back to my previous point, Lush also sells a great deal of limited edition Christmas-themed products which the entire beauty world goes haywire for each and every year. In particular, I recommend checking out the ‘Snow Fairy’ scent, as it’s a real crowd favourite (and mine).

Body Glow

body products

2018 was the year of ‘body glow’.

Again, if your giftee is a fan of healthy, glowing skin, giving them the tools they need to create it will earn you some serious bonus points.

There are countless products out there, but I highly recommend:

1. Lush ‘Fairy Dust’ Dusting Powder ($15.95)

2. Frank Body Magic Shimmer Oil ($21.95)

3. Soap & Glory ‘Smoothie Star’ Lightly Whipped Body Buttercream ($20)

4. Soap & Glory ‘Sugar Crush’ Body Buttercream ($20)

Stocking Stuffers

Nail Polish

If you need one or two stocking stuffers, nail polish is a brilliant way to go.

In particular, I highly recommend Essie, as they have extremely high-quality finishes, as well as extremely on-trend colours.

Pictured:

1. Essie Nail Color in ‘Figi’ (left) and ‘Mint Candy Apple’ (right) ($14.95 each)

2. Essie Luxeffects in ‘A Cut Above’ (centre) ($14.95)

Lipstick

Along the same lines, adding a nice lipstick is an easy way to plump up your gift (and your bonus points).

You can’t really go wrong with red at Christmas time, and if you’d like a comprehensive study of the best red lipsticks on the market, be sure to click here.

In particular, I highly recommend:

1. Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in ‘Uncensored’ ($36)

2. MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in ‘Russian Red’ ($36)

3. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in ‘Creeper’ ($6.50 USD)

And there we have it my darlings!

If you’d like some further recommendations- have no fear! Once again, I have developed this post in collaboration with the ever-so-lovely Cindy Dang who will be sharing her top picks over on Instagram (make sure you follow her while you’re there).

Until Wednesday, 😉
