Warm Nudes
Warm nudes look pretty great on just about any undertone- if you’re warmer, they’ll help to tie everything together, and if you’re cooler, they’ll add a dash of warmth if you’re feeling a bit monotone.
There are infinite variants of warm nudes out there, and any of the other categories can contain ‘warmer’ versions as well, but the following are what I deem to be the more ‘classic’ type of warm nude.
My Faves
Kylie Cosmetics Lip Gloss in ‘Like’ ($15 USD)
Brand’s Colour Description: ‘Warm mocha brown’
Undertone: VERY warm
Pigmentation: Medium/High
Texture: Smooth gloss
Transfer: A LOT
Drying: Not drying, but also not hydrating
Scent: Vanilla cake batter
Longevity: 3-4 hours
Overall Rating: 8/10
NOTES: On me, this is quite a ‘statement’ colour, even though it’s not necessarily that out there. Despite the fact that it’s stunning, I don’t wear it very often.
L’Oreal Infallible Lacquer Lip Paint in ‘Gone With the Nude’ ($19.95 AUD)
Brand’s Colour Description: N/A
Undertone: Warm
Pigmentation: Medium/High
Texture: Creamy Gloss
Transfer: Standard for a gloss
Drying: Tiny bit
Scent: None
Longevity: 4-5 hours
Overall Rating: 8/10
NOTES: This is basically Like’s less adventurous sister.
MAC Lipstick in ‘Yash’ ($36 AUD)
Brand’s Colour Description: ‘Deep Neutral’
Undertone: Neutral to Warm
Pigmentation: Out of this world
Texture: Creamy matte lipstick
Transfer: Minimal
Drying: Tiny bit
Scent: Vanilla
Longevity: 8-9 hours with no touch ups
Overall Rating: 10/10
NOTES: As of right now, this is my favourite nude lipstick. It works on just about everyone.
Rimmel x Kate Moss Lipstick in ’03’ ($12.95 AUD)
Brand’s Shade Description: N/A
Undertone: Warm with a dash of pink
Pigmentation: High
Texture: Satin/Matte lipstick
Transfer: Minimal
Drying: Not at all
Scent: None
Longevity: 7-8 hours
Overall Rating: 9/10
NOTES: Unfortunately this seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth and I cannot find a link to it online anywhere. If you can find it, BUY IT (also, please let me know so I can stock up on 50 more tubes).
Colourpop x KathleenLights Ultra Glossy Lip in ‘Moon Child’ ($6 USD)
Brand’s Shade Description: ‘Pinky nude with gold glitter’
Undertone: Borderline warm
Pigmentation: Medium
Texture: Classic shimmery gloss
Transfer: Quite a lot, but less than Kylie’s glosses
Drying: Not at all
Scent: Very mild vanilla
Longevity: 3-4 hours
Overall Rating: 9/10
NOTES: This colour has snuck into my warm category, as on me, it is straight up warm tan- but be warned, it does seem to look different on everyone!
Pink Nudes
Pink nudes are those that tend to look best on people with cooler undertones and typically fairer complexions. However, if you’re neutral/warm or darker, they can also provide a little extra colour if your look needs it.

Undertone: Warm pink
Pigmentation: HIGH
Texture: Velvety liquid lipstick
Transfer: A little
Drying: Pretty hydrating
Scent: Very mild vanilla
Longevity: Up to 12 hours
Overall Rating: 10/10
NOTES: Of all the lipsticks I’m talking about in this post, this one is the most universally flattering. If works on everyone, and with just about any look. Give it a go!
Kylie Cosmetics Velvet Lip Kit in ‘Charm’ ($27 USD including lip liner)
Brand’s Shade Description: ‘Dusty pink rose’
Undertone: Neutral/Cool
Pigmentation: High
Texture: Velvet liquid lipstick
Transfer: Tiny bit
Drying: Not at all
Scent: Vanilla cake batter
Longevity: Up to 12 hours
Overall Rating: 9.5/10
NOTES: The Kylie velvet formula is one of my favourites for liquid lipstick, as it stays in place and isn’t as drying as her matte formula. I absolutely love this shade and how plump it makes my lips look, but it’s not one that I reach for as much as I probably should.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in ‘Nude Pink’ ($10.95 AUD)
Brand’s Shade Description: N/A
Undertone: Cool
Pigmentation: Medium
Texture: Traditional shimmery satin lipstick
Transfer: A lot
Drying: Not at all
Scent: ‘Lipstick’
Longevity: 4-5 hours
Overall Rating: 7/10
NOTES: This is a great ‘standard’ nude lipstick. If you want something basic, but not BASIC, this is my top pick.
MAC lipstick in ‘Blankety’ ($36 AUD)
Brand’s Shade Description: ‘Soft pink beige’
Undertone: Neutral/Cool
Pigmentation: INSANE
Texture: ‘Amplified Creme’- high pigment in a creme finish lipstick
Transfer: Average
Drying: VERY hydrating
Scent: Vanilla
Longevity: 8-10 hours
Overall Rating: 10/10
NOTES: If you have fair skin, buy this. No explanation necessary.
‘Mauve’ Nudes
Mauve nudes are similar to pinks, but they have a teeny tiny dash of purple and/or brown. These are the 90s/grunge/cool/Kylie Jenner/Instagram Baddie nudes.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipstick in ‘Crazy Beautiful’ ($36 AUD)
Brand’s Shade Description: N/A
Undertone: Very Cool
Pigmentation: Medium/High
Texture: Glossy/Creme Lipstick
Transfer: Average
Drying: Not at all
Scent: Mild ‘Designer’ Vanilla
Longevity: 6-8 hours
Overall Rating: 9/10
NOTES: This is a very easy shade to wear- you can pretty much whack it on with just about anything and it’ll work. The shape of the lipstick bullet is also excellent, as it allows you to get a perfectly sharp edge without having to use a lip liner.
MAC Lipstick in ‘Velvet Teddy’ ($36 AUD)
Brand’s Shade Description: ‘Deep-tone beige’
Undertone: Warm
Pigmentation: Incredible
Texture: Creamy matte lipstick
Transfer: Minimal
Drying: Not at all
Scent: Vanilla
Longevity: 8-10 hours
Overall Rating: 9/10
NOTES: This is probably the most popular/talked about nude lipsticks of all time and it’s not hard to see why. Everybody loves it, and in my opinion, everybody needs it.
NYX Lip Lingerie in ‘Push-Up’ ($14.95 AUD)
Brand’s Shade Description: N/A
Undertone: Neutral
Pigmentation: Medium/High
Texture: Moussey matte liquid lipstick
Transfer: Not usually, but it sometimes crumbles off a little if too much is applied
Drying: Yes
Scent: None
Longevity: 9-10 hours
Overall Rating: 8/10
NOTES: This is a great liquid lipstick if you’re a beginner at liquid lipstick. It’s pretty easy to apply, and goes on super smoothly. It doesn’t last as long as other liquid lipsticks and isn’t quite as pigmented, but if you’re ok with doing a little maintenance throughout the day, this is a great one.

Brand’s Colour Description: ‘Warm pinky nude’
Undertone: Neutral/warm
Pigmentation: Wonderful
Texture: MATTE liquid lipstick
Transfer: None… ever
Drying: Yes
Scent: Vanilla cake batter
Longevity: 12-14 hours
Overall Rating: 10/10
NOTES: Kylie DID THAT.
True Nudes
True nudes are neutral, and that’s about it. They don’t mess around, and will always deserve a place in your collection.

Undertone: Neutral (pink doesn’t really show up on me at all)
Pigmentation: Fabulous

Scent: Vanilla cake batter
Longevity: 10-12 hours
Overall Rating: 9/10
NOTES: I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone with light-deep skin without a darker lip liner, as the colour may look a bit stark. If you’re fair, this is the PERFECT true nude.
